Read Across America on March 2

The National Education Association annually sponsors Read Across America. Now in its twelfth year, the program focuses on how important it is to motivate children to read, in addition to helping them master basic skills. The nationwide reading celebration takes place each year on or near March 2, the birthday of children`s author Dr. Seuss. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, community centers, and more participate by bringing together kids and books.

Technikwoche für Teenager in den USA

The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), the fastest growing division of the American Library Association (ALA), announces Teen Tech Week, a new YALSA celebration aimed at getting teens to use their libraries for the different technologies that are offered there, such as DVDs, databases, audiobooks, electronic games and more. Teen Tech Week was firstly celebrated in March 2007.
